An extended stay in property in Spain could be made unforgettable by getting married while in the country.

Rachel Morgan, editor of Wedding Ideas magazine, says that more designers within the UK are now making wedding dresses suitable for warmer climates.

"I think because designers are cottoning on to the fact that more and more people are getting married abroad, they are bringing out dedicated collections for weddings abroad," she explains.

These include lightweight chiffon fabrics and styles or colour schemes that correspond with the venue – which could make property in Spain an integral part of the day.

Getting married abroad could help to simplify other parts of the ceremony, such as trimming down the guest list.

Ms Morgan's own wedding was on a Thursday, which meant some people could not attend.

But she adds that the people who cared the most found a way to make it to the ceremony, while writing the guest list was easier than it might otherwise have been.
