Low-cost airline Jet2.com has announced new routes to property in Spain and a number of other world destinations as it commences operations from Glasgow Airport.

The airline's new services from the Scottish airport include three separate routes to Spanish territories.

One is to carry passengers to the Balearic island of Majorca, while the second is to take travellers to property in Spain's Canaries hotspot, Tenerife.

A third scheduled route takes holidaymakers from Glasgow to Alicante on the mainland.

The remaining new routes operating from Glasgow are to reach Nice, Dalaman, Faro, Tunisia, Paphos and Sharm el Sheikh.

Jet2.com managing director Ian Doubtfire says: "We are thrilled to be launching at Glasgow Airport and feel that the region will benefit considerably from our friendly low-fare service."

Flights cost from £36.99 to Majorca, £56.99 to Tenerife and £36.99 to Alicante, with all destinations departing from Glasgow available for passengers to book tickets now.
