A new series of the comedy Benidorm is to be filmed on the Costa Blanca, it has emerged.

The Tiger Aspect production will see its third series being shot in the resort next month, according to La Manga Spain.

Areas of the town such as El Campello and Callosa will be featured in the series, which stars Johnny Vegas.

The focus on such districts may prompt more people to consider buying Costa Blanca property.

A new survey by holiday firm Thompson has found that Benidorm is now the most popular overseas resort among Britons.

The location was rated highly for aspects such as food and drink, atmosphere and nightlife.
