Turkish property is set to continue benefiting from rapidly increasing accessibility from airlines around the world.

According to the well respected Anna.Aero publication, Ryanair has signalled its desire to make Turkey the focus of its next round of expansions. There has been no specifics given at this stage, but past announcements suggest that when Ryanair spots a market worthy of expansion it goes in hard and fast: for example, it hinted at expansion into Eastern Europe in February, and followed this up with a new base in Kaunas, Lithuania.

On top of this interest from Ryanair, Turkish airlines are to begin flying to its third US destination; the airline will begin flying five weekly flights between Istanbul Ataturk and Washington Dulles from November 7th.

Turkish Airlines, already running flights to New York JFK and Chicago O’Hare, is one of only 2 airlines flying from Turkey to America. Delta is the other, with flights between New York JFK and Istanbul Atatürk.

The new route will be serviced with 250-seat A330-200 aircraft, which means that the airlines newly announced ‘Comfort Class’ premium economy product will not be available on the route. However, the airline says that it will be offered on the route depending on the delivery schedule of the airline’s 777-300ERs with the new cabin configuration.

This is just the latest in a long line of new routes served from the Istanbul Ataturk airport, and those throughout Turkey, not least the recent announcement of the first flights servicing the Alanya airport at Gazipasa — domestic flights between the airport and Istanbul. Accessibility is of course a major pro when it comes to reasons to buy Turkish property.
