Sancerre is one wine that awaits visitors to property in France's Loire ValleyPeople heading to property in France‘s Loire Valley can expect many of the local wines to be unoaked, providing a light colour and an easy-to-drink character.

Amanda Gallou, owner of importer Amanda’s Wines, explains that "unoaked wines are easy to drink", which may be welcome news to anyone heading to property in France to try the produce of its vineyards.

Sancerre, made with the sauvignon blanc grape, could be a good place to start, as the variety is one of the main grapes grown in the region.

A classic alternative harks back as far as the Middle Ages and comes in the form of chenin blanc from Vouvray.

Wines of all varieties were on show at the recent Taste of London festival in Regent’s Park, where Ms Gallou made her observations.

Held annually, Taste of London features a number of Britain’s top chefs and representatives of highly regarded restaurants, with food and wine tastings.
