Anyone dreaming of owning property in Australia and starting fresh in new surroundings may benefit from the latest aeronautical advancements.
Moving to a place on the other side of the world means that returning to the UK, even on a yearly basis, would be too difficult for many people.
But now new superfast planes, which travel at six times the speed of normal airliners and five times the speed of sound, are being successfully trialled in the country’s remote outback.
The planes would slash a 24-hour flight to just under three hours, making it incredibly easy for people to get to and from their home in the UK and property in Australia.
The successful trial flights are a significant milestone according to Australian defence personnel minister Greg Combet.
He said: "Hypersonic flight has the potential to revolutionise global air travel and provide cost-effective access to space."
Hypersonic International Flight Research Experimentation, or HIFiRE, blasts a vehicle 200km into the sky on a rocket before it dives back through the atmosphere at hypersonic speed.
