Try to explore the country before making any decisionsAnyone thinking of following their dream and moving to Spain may think they know just about everything there is to know about the country and its locations.

But there is more than meets the eye, according to one expert.

Carmen Hernandez Gomez, market analyst at the Spanish Tourism Office, believes people, holidaymakers in particular, often think they have seen it all but very often they need to open their mind.

"Even if you have been to a place many, many times, there is probably a lot about it that you don’t know yet," she says.

Finding a property in Spain may mean looking at potential locations a bit more closely.

Ms Gomez advises people take another look at destinations such as Lanzorote and Tenerife.

The islands may have a party image, but if visitors look closer they will see "really calm, quiet, pretty and well looked after" parts of the islands.
