Midi-Pyrenees could provide a different view of FranceFrance’s largest region, the Midi-Pyrenees could offer a "really specific" experience, according to the Midi-Pyrenees Regional Tourism Committee.

The area is famous for its gastronomy making this an ideal location to find property in France for anyone with a passion for the country’s cuisine.

Set in the Pyrenessian Mountains, the area seems to be becoming more popular, with 449,698 passengers travelling through the Toulouse-Blagnac Airport during January 2010 – an increase of 1.7 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.

Solenne Odon, marketing, communication and press agent for Great Britain and Ireland at the region’s tourism board, believes the dialect, history and scenery of the Midi-Pyrenees gives it a unique appeal.

"[There are many] natural sites to discover if you go for a walk. Near Rodez, we have the viaduct which is really famous because it is the highest bridge in the world. It is really nice," she said.
