Spain has been a favourite holiday destination for UK travellers for a number of years, which could have led to the number of people choosing to relocate to the country.

Nearly 300,000 Britons have bought property in Spain in recent years in search of a better climate and a more relaxed way of life and some have been able to cash in on one of the "most vigorous housing booms in Europe", according to the Scotsman.

Teresa Hunter of the Scotsman believes that although the strength of the pound is relatively low there are still some bargains to be had.
