Stone-built homes make for one of the best French property investments, it has been stated.

French property specialist firm VEF has noted that stone properties in the Langeudoc province are particularly attractive, being a yellow stone colour and highly sought after.

A representative of the Languedoc regional office said: "Stone properties are a sound investment. Being cool in summer and warm in winter, they were built to last. And they look good too!"

Properties in the region tend to have been renovated to a high standard and those coming to live in such locations can enjoy excellent village life, the representative stated.

Another area of south-west France that is characterised with stone houses is the Quercy Blanc, near Moissac.

Vialex International, which operates in the area, has just announced an expansion of its operations to deal with increased demand for these and other properties.
