The 18th edition of the Paris Half Marathon on March 8th marks the beginning of an exhaustive few weeks for the city as the full marathon takes place the following month.

Over 24,000 runners from ten different nations entered the race in 2009 – competing against each other through the streets of eastern Paris.

For fitness and running enthusiasts who enjoy taking part in endurance races such as the Paris Half Marathon, finding a property in France might be the best way to gain regular access to the competition.

Around 12 per cent of the entrants of the 21.1 km race are from overseas. This year, a small and light-weight sports GPS device lets participants’ family and friends follow and monitor them via the internet.

The event is open to professionals and amateur runners born in or before 1991 and everyone taking part must bring a medical certificate to show that they are well enough to run.
