Couples who enjoy romantic breaks abroad might find northern Italy to be a great place to invest in property in Italy.

The village of Camogli in Liguria holds an annual festival celebrating romance and love, in the lead up to Valentine’s Day on February 14th. The event is called Lovers in Camogli and seemingly involves the whole town.

During the celebration, hundreds of local residents submit love poems to the local authorities, of which 20 of the most romantic are displayed as posters along the Camogli waterfront.

Similarly, a painting contest is held resulting in a gallery of romance-induced art work with one painting named as the image of Lovers in Camogli.

A permanent holiday home or property in Italy, in particular Liguria, could be the ideal place to spend quality time abroad.

Liguria is one of Italy’s smallest regions and is often referred to as the ‘Italian Riviera’, stretching from Tuscany to the French border.
