Owners of property in France may want to head to a Serge Gainsbourg exhibition being held in the capital city of Paris, an event aimed at paying tribute to the iconic artist and singer.

According to the France tourist board website, the event is part exhibition and part installation and allows visitors to see how Gainsbourg created "an aesthetic universe that abolished the boundaries between the major and minor arts".

Owners of property in France may already be aware of Gainsbourg’s work, which included writing, art, poetry, music and plays.

The website also noted that Gainsbourg – who died in 1991 – is to France what Bob Dylan is to the US and David Bowie is to the UK, which could tempt owners of property in Paris to head to the exhibition and see what all the fuss is about.

The exhibition is open until February next year and costs €8 (£7) to enter.
