British holidaymakers have a continuing love affair with getting away to Tuscany, it has been noted, which could be of interest to those who own property in Italy.

Writing for the Telegraph, overseas property expert Anna Tyzack said that while the area may be associated with expensive breaks, there are properties in Tuscany which are affordable for "buyers on a budget".

Italian properties in areas such as Umbria can set property buyers back more than €1 million, she said, but those looking for a more affordable way to invest in property in Italy could find areas such as Lunigiana or Emilia-Romagna ideal.

"For those prepared to explore, there are many lovely, old houses within easy reach of unspoilt coast and countryside all over Italy," she went on to say.

Meanwhile, property expert Paul Hudson recently wrote that the market for property in Italy is stable, which could interest Brits looking to invest.
