Properties in the French region of Pyrenees Atlantiques valued between €200,000 and €350,000 (£277,000) have seen a sudden surge in popularity, it has been claimed.

French property portal VEF has said that the region has experienced a rapid recent increase in the number of purchases in the region within this price range, according to one of its partner agents that works in that part of France.

The firm suggests that those looking to buy in this range should look to do so quickly.

Overall, those looking to buy properties in France may find that different parts of the market are correcting prices either with rises or falls, which will continue for the next few months, VEF states.

Such trends may be worth investigating by those interested in French Riviera property, Normandy property or Brittany property, among others.

The Move Channel has stated that properties in France tend to be less expensive the more rural an area is and more highly priced in urban areas.
