Opportunities to begin your search for a foreign home without travelling abroad come to the North West this month, when the UK’s largest overseas property exhibition visits Manchester.

Dozens of estate agents and property professionals from Europe, the USA and further afield will be showcasing what the overseas property market has to offer right now, with some promoting discounts and deals exclusively to visitors to the event. Legal, mortgage, currency transfer, removals, tax, visa and rentals specialists will also be exhibiting, available for an informal chat on their stand. The presenters of the A Place in the Sun TV series, including Jonnie Irwin and Jasmine Harman, will also be there, speaking on the main stage.

A Place in the Sun Live! in Manchester is an unmissable event for anyone thinking of purchasing overseas,” said Laura Richards, country specialist at Spain Buying Guide, which will be exhibiting at the show. “We’ve exhibited at the London and Birmingham shows for several years and believe there is plenty of appetite for owning an overseas home amongst people who live in the North West. We’re also delighted that our editor, Richard Way, has been invited to contribute to the show’s live seminars, and we invite people to come to see us at stand D61 and chat about their plans to buy abroad.”

“Right now, conditions in Eurozone hotspots, including Spain and France, remain very kind to UK buyers, wherever they are from. But locally in the North West, interest should also be fuelled by recovering domestic house prices and the expanding flights network from Manchester Airport, the UK’s third busiest airport.”

“A leading analyst reported this month that momentum behind house price growth in the UK has shifted to northern cities, who have lagged behind London and the South-east. This should help create a feel good factor in the North of England, and is good news for anyone selling their property to relocate abroad or to buy a holiday home.”

Rightmove Overseas will also be at the exhibition, offering visitors the chance to browse overseas property for sale on its website and providing advice on how to make the most of its online service.

Another exhibitor there to help property buyers will be currency specialist, Smart Currency Exchange. Their CEO, Charles Purdy commented, “Too many overseas property buyers still do not realise the savings that can be made simply by securing a good exchange rate and not paying excessive bank fees when they come to send money overseas. Buyers are putting themselves at risk by not understanding the currency markets and the different ways to avoid being vulnerable to exchange rate fluctuations. Currency specialists can help by offering a number of benefits, such as ways to forward purchasing currency. So our team values these shows as an opportunity to explain everything in simple terms, with no strings attached, and build relationships with people, many of whom become lifetime clients.”

A Place in the Sun Live! takes place at Manchester Central from 13th-15th March 2015.
