As a teenager, Murray swapped rainy Scotland for a tennis academy in sunny Barcelona, where he spent a crucial couple of years training to become a pro. Further south, the Costa Blanca is equally attractive to tennis players, including those looking for a second home near world-class facilities. Here, British No.2 James Ward spent four years training at the Equelite Juan Carlos Ferrero Academy in Villena, near Alicante.
