Following a new statement from the Home Affairs Minister for Guyana, all travellers to the Caribbean country will be issued with a visa upon entry to the country. There will be four new types of visa offered to visitors – employment, student, business and visitor.

Visitors entering Guyana will be eligible to stay for a maximum time period of three months, and they will have to pay $25 for each of these months.

Employers looking to bring employees into the country will be charged £140 for a three-year employment visa which enables the visitor to work there. Similarly, students will pay $140 for a three-year student visa, which can be renewed for a similar renewal fee.

There are also reciprocal agreements being set up with several countries which will mean some visitors which fall in to certain categories will be able to enter the country without having a visa.
