The Australian Government is hosting an event in London early next year aimed at matching British workers with an occupation that’s in demand down under with a suitable Australian employer.

The event, called Skills Australia Needs and organised by Australia’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), will take place on 25th and 26th February and will give pre-screened skilled workers the chance to discuss potential employment and sponsorship opportunities with participating employers. Interested skilled workers must have a high level of English language and be under 50 years of age.

“Skills Australia Needs events help address current skill shortages in areas of occupational demand in Australia, particularly healthcare, engineering and select trade occupations,” a DIAC departmental spokesman said. “Interested skilled workers can apply to attend the events, however, only those with recognised qualifications and experience in one of the occupations targeted will be selected.”

More information about the event is available on the DIAC website
