According to local experts, the prime locations within the Spanish property sector are continuing to fare well. The property market is thriving and there are still many transactions taking place, despite a bleak economy.

A spokesman for a leading estate agent in Marbella commented; “Despite the uncertainty in Spain, the top end market is holding up well.” He also added that European nationals are making up the majority of the buyers.

Luxury and exclusive properties in Marbella are experiencing a high level of interest and are highly sought after at the moment, the agent added. This is mainly due to the various difference attractions of the area, including the marinas, golf facilities, luxury shops and many restaurants.

Mallorca is also receiving good interest from overseas investors and is currently one of the top options for wealthy buyers. Many people like the beaches and water sports facilities there, and waterfront locations fetch a good price when put up for sale.
