Quick tips to stay safe this summer

It’s summer and we’re loving it… holidays, sun on your face, BBQs and the long evenings.

But summer months can also mean you are targeted heavily by burglars. Not only are you twice as likely to be burgled after moving, but you’re also twice as likely to be targeted by pinching hands if you move during the summer.

Fear not though, as some quick changes can help keep you and your belongings safe this summer.

Change your front door lock

Scarily, two thirds of people do not change their locks when they move in. Imagine how many people you have given keys to in the duration of your life. Would you want that many people having keys to your new property? Simply by changing your cylinder you can gain true peace of mind over who has ownership to your new sanctuary.

Outside matters too

Do you have a lock on your new shed that is up to standard? If not, how much do you think your BBQ, bicycles, tools and possessions are worth? The average cost of an outdoor burglary is a whopping £850. Not something you want to fork out – especially after the costs of moving home.
