Five beach huts for sale right now

If previous years are anything to go by, the arrival of summer brings with it a desire to soak up the sea air and (hopefully) some sunshine. And 2022 is no exception, with buyers looking to net their very own idyllic lock-up-and-leave beach hut.

We’ve found that the asking price of a beach hut has risen 28% since last year, with the average price jumping from £39,382, to just over £50,000.

Why are beach hut prices rising?

This is happening because more people are enjoying British staycations, and heading to the nation’s glorious coastlines for their holidays.

Our property expert, Tim Bannister, says this has driven prices up: “Beach huts have become increasingly sought-after over the past couple of years, leading to some being sold for hundreds of thousands of pounds.”

And once they’ve found a beach hut to buy, owners are also hanging on to their prized seaside pads long term. James Eniffer, of Sheen’s Estate Agents in Clacton-on-Sea, says: “We’ve seen huge demand. We often find that owners hold on to them for many years, for each generation of the family to enjoy.”

So whether you’d perch out front in a stripey deck chair, or enjoy shelter from some British-summer rain (because let’s face it, the latter can happen anytime), take a look at just some of the postcard-worthy beach huts for sale right now.
