10 quickest sellers markets revealed
If you’re looking to put your home up for sale soon, you might be wondering how long it could take to find a buyer. Nationally, it’s taking 60 days on average from the time a home hits the market for a sale to be agreed, and this figure falls to 33 days for homes for sale in Scotland. But some areas are seeing much shorter times on average.
Similar to the trend we saw in March this year, Carluke in Scotland is where homes are selling the quickest right now, at an average of 15 days. This is three days faster than we were seeing last year, and nine days more quickly than homes were selling earlier this year. The commuter towns of Giffnock and Uddingston, found on the outskirts of Glasgow, are in second and third place.
Our property expert, Tim Bannister, says: “Carluke has taken the top spot again this year for the fastest market across Great Britain, underlining the continued speed of the market in this part of Scotland. The Glasgow commuter towns of Giffnock and Uddingston are high on the list right now, suggesting buyers are looking for easy access to the city centre, whilst enjoying the increased space that being further out can bring.”
