See inside Amanda Holden and Alan Carr’s Spanish townhouse renovation
Following the success of their previous renovations in Sicily and Tuscany, Amanda Holden and Alan Carr donned their hard hats and customised boiler suits for the latest series of Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job. For their third project, the pair headed to the village of Moclín in Spain, to reimagine a townhouse that had been uninhabited for decades.
And after knocking down (and rebuilding) walls, replacing the roof and sourcing local treasures to furnish the home, the finished home is now for sale on Rightmove, with proceeds from the sale set to be donated to charity.
Found on the main square, the home features a double-fronted façade with three floors of beautifully styled interiors, reflecting Amanda and Alan’s creative vision for a home bursting with local character. There is a sun-soaked, Mediterranean-style roof terrace, an in-house bar and cosy communal dining space.
What’s happened with searches for Moclín?
We’ve also seen interest in the local region surge off the back of the show, which hit screens back in January this year, and concluded on 14 March. Our data shows that over 85,000 people have looked up properties in Moclín this year – 800 times more than the 104 searches recorded at this time last year.
This marks the biggest year-on-year increase in interest of any overseas location in 2025, and makes Moclín the 34th most searched for location in Spain so far, up from 802nd in the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the wider area of Granada has also seen a 277% increase in interest from curious searchers.
Our Chief Data Officer, Steve Pimblett, says: “This is the latest example of real-world events influencing the way millions of people search for property. As people have seen Amanda and Alan’s renovation project and learned about the area of Moclín, they’ve turned to Rightmove to see what living there could be like. We expect the home will draw a lot of attention, and hopefully find the right buyer.”
