Live on your very own island!

Have you ever wanted to live on your very own private island? Well now you can and you don’t even have to travel overseas… just over a suspension bridge.

The Island’ is situated in Newquay and is on the market for £1million. For your buck, you will be the proud owner of a three-bedroom house perched on top of the large granite rock; the 1930s Edwardian property comes complete with a garden and terrace boasting 360 views of the popular surfing resort and direct access to the sandy beach below (when it’s low-tide!)

Towan Island has become somewhat of a Cornish landmark and is thought to be the most photographed island in the UK. Its accolades don’t stop there however; in high-tide the coastal residence is completely surrounded by water and can only be reached via a 70ft high, 100ft long suspension bridge – the only privately-owned suspension bridge in Britain.

This is only the third time this unique property has been up for sale in forty years. It was once used as a tearoom before the house was built and it’s believed to have been owned by Sir Oliver Joseph Lodge (the inventor of the spark plug for those who didn’t know). The current residents have lived there for ten years but it’s said that the elderly couple are moving to avoid struggling across the bridge.
