£350,000 could buy this remote Scottish island

The remote Scottish island, along with the former lighthouse keeper’s home, is for sale for less than the average price of a home in Great Britain.
Listed with estate agent Knight Frank, the current owners are asking for offers over £350,000.
As the main building has been vacant for a number of years, the interior is in need of a full renovation: it’s the perfect opportunity for a start-from-scratch project. And the five-bedroom property isn’t connected to the mains electricity supply, so the new owner might look at renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power, or a generator.
Viewing this home will be something of an adventure in itself. Home-hunters will either need to get there by private boat, chartered boat, or chartered helicopter flight. And there’ll be no problem with finding a place to land, as this home comes with its very own helipad.
Pladda’s new owner will be the only resident of this off-grid, 28-acre area of land in the Firth of Clyde. The closest shop is on the island of Arran, in the village of Kildonan: around a 15-minute boat ride away.
And though there might not be any locals to get to know, Pladda has plenty of avian residents. It’s a popular breeding spot for many different birds, with more than 100 species recorded on the island.
