An eco house in Surrey, trees

See inside 7 eco-friendly homes

We’re always looking to fly the flag about the benefits of living in a greener home, not least because better energy efficiency leads to lower energy bills on average.

When you’re browsing homes for sale and to rent on Rightmove, an Energy Performance Certificate will tell you the property’s current energy efficiency rating, graded on a scale from A-G, with A being the most efficient, while G is the least efficient. Many of the most energy efficient homes currently for sale will come equipped with electric, rather than gas features, meaning they emit less carbon into the atmosphere. You can read more about how electric homes work here.

We’ve rounded up some incredible homes for sale and to rent that got us feeling inspired to go greener at home, all with high EPC ratings or eco-friendly features.
