Most of the sales in West Sussex over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £674,810. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £427,718 and terraced properties averaged at £358,011.
West Sussex, with an overall average price of £442,826, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby East Sussex (£425,113), but was more expensive than Hampshire (£392,548) and cheaper than Surrey (£606,344). The most expensive area within West Sussex was Amberley (£973,333) and the cheapest was Three Bridges (£312,145).
In the past year house prices in West Sussex were similar to the year before and similar to 2022 when they averaged at £449,319.
