Jonny grew up in Okehampton and is an extremely popular and likeable character. He knows the area like the back of his hand and most of the people living there! Having worked for an independent firm previously, Jonny helped establish Mansbridge Balment as one of the leading agents in the town when the office opened in 2008. Nothing is too much trouble for Jonny who will always find time for everyone. Very professional and understanding

Both John and Martyn were very professional and understanding in their approach to marketing our property. We had two problems. The first was being on the cusp of the higher rate of stamp duty The second was that we had solar panels installed 2 years earlier and we could not get HMRC to exclude their value from the value of the sale as one would do for furnishings and carpets. The problem was the market and this property took a long time ( about 3 1/3rd years) to sell.Which to the vendors a fixed fee is obviously acceptable. Still we got there in the end and bearing in mind that the vendors lived rather a long distance away it was important that there was on hand a first class organisation who could handle various matters particularly those in the final stages of ownership. Otherwise the vendors would have had to travel long distances to deal with domestic issues. Service M&B provides is without a price

Firstly may I make it clear that this review only applies to M&B Okehampton.It is often said that selling your house can be extremely stressful and this can be the case, and we all know some of the negative comments associated with Estate Agents. When dealing with M&B Okehampton this is not the case. It took nearly 2 years to sell our property and at no time during this period did M&B lose interest or momentum, both primary Directors being there after 6pm and before 9am listening to everything I had to say and actioning it when necessary, I felt that the sale of our property was as important to them as it was to me. Most importantly of all they always listened to my ideas for additions to the brochure and endlessly updated it accordingly. The sale of our House became a team effort rather than simply a negotiation between Client and Service Provider, a good thing to remember in the dim dark reaches of the night when the money is running out and you haven't shown anybody around for a week.Forget selling your House online, regardless of the cost saving, the service M&B provided is without price. I would recommend them unreservedly.

I recently had the pleasure of acquiring a new home through Mansbridge & Balment's Okehampton office. I can not fault the service that I received, from start to finish. My main point of contact was Martyn and he provided an excellent service: he was friendly, professional, patient and helpful and, very importantly, allowed me to view the property at my own pace whilst remaining attentive to answer any questions that I came up with during the viewing. During my first viewing, he achieved what I would regard as a perfect balance of marketing the property in a positive way, without being pushy. I like to have time and space to take in the atmosphere and attributes of a potential new home and Martyn enabled me to do this, in a very relaxed way. He was extremely patient when I wished to view several more times, with other members of the family, and he remained helpful and courteous at all times and was happy to let my elderly (& not very mobile) parents undertake a viewing of the property in their own time. Once we reached the stage of exchanging contracts, I had a very prompt telephone call from Jonathan to let me know this had happened. All in all, my experience with Mansbridge & Balment was very positive and I can't express my gratitude enough at the professional but approachable and unprejudiced manner in which I was treated throughout the purchase, with excellent communication along the way. I purchased a property through M and B in August and I wish I had also used them to sell my property though instead of another agent in okehampton. The customer service was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. They treated me with respect and were always in close contact with me from the start but without being pushy. It's nice to deal with an agent that knows both parties like to be kept up to date rather than leaving it to the solicitors to do all the work. I also like the fact that they have good local knowledge of the town. My purchase was a nice easy process and when/if I do choose to sell I will instruct them!

Excellent Communication and Updates

Mansbridge Balment were the Letting agents for a property I rented in Okehampton and although it was only for a very short period of time due to personal reasons I had to leave the property, Jonathan was fantastic in quickly sorting out new tenants to the property relinquishing me from the tenancy agreement. Great guys

Our journey began with a telephone conversation with Dan Hopkins. I explained our requirements. We arranged a viewing at a property for the following day. After the viewing Dan produced details of an alternative property that he strongly advised us to view. On paper it really didn't tick the boxes. Three days later we went to the viewing.
