George Thornton, Lettings Manager

Our dedicated Lettings team is led by George Thornton, an experienced, ARLA qualified agent with a customer focused approach and a desire to go above and beyond for everyone he encounters.

George boasts over a decade of experience in Lettings alone covering all of Bournemouth and Christchurch. George is personable and very knowledgeable in his chosen field and can successfully manage the entire Lettings process for you including free landlord Lettings valuations, a tenant find service, bespoke marketing, comprehensive referencing, specialist inventories, deposit protection, gas safety certificates, energy performance certificates (EPC), and rent protection.

Outside of work, George enjoys renovation projects, and spending quality time with his wife and son. He also enjoys playing as much sport as possible, having represented his home county in several different arenas as a young adult.

William Gollop, Digital Marketing Manager

William joined our team last year, fresh out of college, and took charge of our social media operations, marking the beginning of his professional journey. Since then, he has not only played a pivotal role in expanding our business but has also been actively broadening his expertise in the field of lettings alongside George (Thornton, Lettings Manager).

Outside of work, William has a diverse range of interests. He enjoys hitting the gym to stay fit, teeing off on the golf course, and indulging in video games during his leisure time.

Some good ideas for buyers

1. Speak with your mortgage consultant to arrange the best loan to suit your needs.

2. Prepare a short list of locations that suit your lifestyle. Keep in mind affordability and accommodation requirements.

3. Research sales in those preferred areas using The Dorset Echo, The Dorset Magazine and Rightmove House Prices. Ask for local knowledge. Inspect every property in your preferred area so you have a feel for the price

4. Develop a relationship with one of our Property Consultants here at Meyers Estate Agents specialising in your personal property search. The agent will be able to offer additional advice and also alert you to new listings before they reach the media.

5. When you find a property that suits your requirements, ask your agent to send a copy of the memo of sale contracts to your solicitor or conveyancer.

6. We recommend that you arrange a Home Buyers Survey to make you aware of any major defects and pest concerns eg: wood boring insects, damp.

7. Following your solicitors or conveyancers advice on the sale contract and taking into consideration the building and pest reports, you are now able to make an informed decision to proceed with an exchange on the property and arrange moving dates through the legal teams. Exchange usually happens about a week or two before completion.

8. If you are bidding at an auction, we recommend you read the Office of Fair Trading's "Bidder's Guide" before you attend any auction.

9. Set up an early call on completion day to your solicitor and request that your case is completed as soon as possible so that you don't have a long drawn out day.

10. On completion day, your solicitor or conveyancer may request that you pick the keys up from the Estate Agents office. This is to ensure that the property clear and ready for you to move into when the previous owner has departed from the property.

Having managed successful branches in Poole and Bournemouth with a corporate agent, David decided he wanted to do more with estate agency and be in a business where the customer is the focus, where we can improve the way the industry operates to customer needs, giving the customer a first-class personal experience delivered by a highly skilled agent.

Outside of work, David loves spending time with his partner Valentine and their two little boys Wyatt and Carter, David is also a keen sportsman and enjoys being active.

After managing in various sales and customer service roles over the years I feel I have gained invaluable experience within the sales & customer service sector. Being able to apply my skills within the Meyers business, working alongside my brother David and wife Nicole, has been fantastic and delivering a 5-star experience to all customers is a real passion of mine.

After graduating from the Arts University Bournemouth in 2016, Fraser travelled the world, building businesses and teaching, until returning to his hometown of Southbourne and finding his calling in estate agency. Having joined us at the beginning of August Harry is one of our newest team members, however, he has been able to hit the ground running having worked in the property industry for some time now and has already proved himself to be a valuable team member.

Harry has lived in Southbourne his whole life so knows the area extremely well and is both passionate and dedicated about delivering high quality customer service and making sure the process to buy or sell your home is as stress free as possible.

Valentine Legris, Company Secretary

Valentine grew up in Bournemouth and recently relocated to Christchurch with her partner David (Giles, Director) and their two sons, Wyatt and Carter.

Prior to joining the Meyers Southbourne & Christchurch team, Valentine worked in the financial industry for well over a decade. Having worked in the leadership team for a large corporate bank where customers are often seen as just a number, Valentine wanted to move away from the corporate world into a more rewarding role where customers are local, and the aim is to deliver a first-class, personal yet professional experience.

Outside of work, Valentine spends most of her time running around after her two little boys. When time allows, Valentine loves nothing more than spending quality time, making memories, with family and friends.

Jamie is our in-house Mortgage Advisor; he has been working in the financial services industry for over 25 years in a variety of roles including advice, compliance, and underwriting.

He is well placed to help you with your mortgage requirements, whether you are a first-time buyer or experienced property owner. Jamie prides himself on being able to help in any scenario. He will go out of his way to be contactable to suit your needs and is even happy to answer questions via WhatsApp outside of office hours if necessary, ensuring clients who work less conventional hours don't miss out on their ideal property.

Joining the team with more than two years administrative experience, Colette comes from a varied career background predominantly in customer service, having held roles within the motor trade, hospitality sector and over a decade in the travel industry. Colette approaches all aspects of any job with a positive, hard-working mindset and strives to be a welcome addition to the Meyers team.

In her spare time, Colette's family are her focus. Living by the coast and close to the New Forest provides the perfect location to spend days out with her husband and two children. Her love for cooking and her creative side keeps her and her children busy baking cakes and creating artwork.
