Description - Haselour Hall, Manor and Chapel has been described as perhaps the most charming half-timbered house in the county. It is a beautiful five gabled, Elizabethan residence with stunning original features including the oak panelled reception hall and dining room, a fabulous Norman oak front door, stained glass leaded windows and magnificent oak fire surrounds depicting scenes from the battle of Hastings. The property is set over four storeys with 11 main bedrooms. The hall is beautifully grand, having been well maintained by the current owners. The land that the hall now sits on is thought to have provided accommodation to Henry Tudor the night before the battle of Bosworth Field; the last significant battle in the War of the Roses, and the chapel is thought to date back to the twelfth or thirteenth century.

Four centuries on, the hall still stands regally in its grounds, with many sensitive additions and improvements, and now providing a magnificent family home to the present owners. The hall offers potential purchasers a range of possibilities in terms of its uses, having extensive accommodation within the hall itself, as well as a separate annexe, numerous stables and outbuildings, and the private chapel within the grounds, and now linked to the main hall.

Ground Floor - In more detail this beautiful, historic home consists of a welcoming reception hall with oak panelled walls, large open hearth and central, pillared oak staircase leading to the first floor. From the reception hall is the drawing room, again with oak panelled walls and magnificent oak fire surround, and the panelled dining room. This remarkable room has an incredible oak fire surround, hand carved with intricate depictions of the battle of Hastings. The fire itself dates back to the seventeenth century and the room also boasts a stunning oak beamed ceiling and stained glass leaded windows to the front aspect. A formal sitting room is also situated leading off from the reception hall, again with lovely inglenook open heath, original beamed ceiling and views to the front of the property. An office also leads from the reception hall as well as an inner lobby leading to the more modern west wing. Built as an addition to the original structure, this area is a more informal area of the house, with a beautiful open plan kitchen/breakfast and family room. This section of the house combines a stunning bespoke kitchen; with solid wood units, marble work surfaces and a seven oven Range cooker, with a lovely relaxed family room, perfect for informal entertaining and family time. This room leads on to the conservatory, with views over the grounds of the hall. Ideally located for entertaining, a snooker room also leads off from the inner lobby, and a boot room, guest WC and store complete the main ground floor accommodation. Leading off from the boot room on the ground floor is a fabulous wine cellar and boiler room.

First Floor - The central oak staircase leads up to the gallery landing with oak panelled walls and vaulted ceiling. Located on the first floor are nine bedrooms, all with beautiful period features including wooden flooring, open fires and beamed ceilings. The master bedroom, to the east of the hall, has stunning panelled walls, bay window to the front aspect of the property and beautiful fire place. A fabulous en suite bathroom leads off from the room with free standing roll top bath and ceramic tiled floor. Bedroom two also has an en suite bathroom with free standing circular bath and wooden floors. Three further double bedrooms are located to the west wing of the hall with four smaller rooms and two good sized family bathrooms, both with luxury tiling and suites.

Second Floor - Three further double bedrooms are located on the second floor of the property, with the larger of the three being accessed via a further bedroom, dressing room or office.

Chapel, Annexe And Grounds - The chapel, dating back to the twelfth and thirteenth century, with its early gothic architecture, is now connected to the main hall through a long passage from the dining room. With parquet flooring, beautiful vaulted, beamed ceiling and solid oak pews, the chapel provides a wonderful addition to the hall and is still opened to the public, annually, for Remembrance services.

A self-contained detached annexe sits to the north west of the property and consists of a sitting room, kitchen/breakfast/family area, family bathroom and two guest bedrooms. A master suite sits on the top floor. The annexe provides ideal accommodation for visitors, a housekeeper or au-pair.

The grounds to the hall are approached through a gated entrance and a tree lined driveway leading to an open lawned area and substantial graveled driveway with parking for numerous vehicles. The grounds include secluded patio areas, mature woodland and a paddock. There are four stables with tack room and hay store, and 11 garages. Also in the grounds is an outdoor swimming pool situated within a beautiful walled terrace.

Other outbuildings include wood stores, barn, carport, generator, pump room and summer house.
