Churchill is an attractive Cotswold village in the heart of the Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton triangle of glorious rolling countryside. Neighbouring villages include Kingham, Daylesford and Bledington. Kingham has a main-line station with a direct service to London Paddington, via Oxford, and two popular pubs, the Plough and the Wild Rabbit. Daylesford is famed for its Organic Farm Shop, Bledington for the Kings Head Inn. The whole area is awash with good pubs, country walks and pretty towns and villages to explore, including Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew. Churchill is instantly appealing with many attractive period properties, the 19th century All Saints Church which dominates the village has a tower being a two-thirds copy of the Magdalen College chapel, Oxford. Also in the centre of the village is the well-known ‘gastro’ pub, The Chequers.
At the bottom of Hastings Hill (named after Warren Hastings (1732–1818) the first Governor-General of British India, born in Churchill on 6 December 1732) is the Churchill and Sarsden Heritage Centre housed in the chancel of the original 14th century parish church. Nearby is the Smith Memorial, a memorial to William Smith, Father of British Geology who was born in Churchill in 1769. More recently, celebrity chef Rick Stein was born in Churchill.
In addition to Daylesford, there is an M & S and Sainsbury’s in Chipping Norton, together with Dr’s, Dentists and a wide range of expected amenities. There are excellent Primary Schools in Kingham and Bledington. Other local schools include Kingham Hill, Tudor Hall, Kitebrook, Bloxham and the Carrdus.
The Oxford schools are accessible and include the Dragon, Summerfields, Magdalen College School, Oxford High School, St. Edwards and Headington to name but a few. Radley College, Cothill, Abingdon, Cokethorpe and St Hughes are not too distant.
There are golf clubs in Chipping Norton, Burford and very nearby Lyneham (the Wychwood), hunting is with the Heythrop. Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew is 11 miles distant.

The gardens at Swailsbrook House are well established and the surrounding paddocks extend your views further across the countryside. There is a large stable block currently with four stables, two offices, an open sided barn and extensive loft space.
Winding through the paddocks is a tributary to the Evenlode. The land extends to six acres laid to grass.
