Choppington is a village in south east Northumberland, England, about 17 miles (27 km) north of Newcastle upon Tyne. It lies across the River Wansbeck from Ashington (approx. 3 miles), along with Stakeford, about halfway between the busier larger Towns of Ashington and Morpeth (approx. 4 miles).

Choppington is a mainly residential village with a good community spirit which offers plenty of local facilities including pubs: shops including independent traders: Post Office: Pharmacy: a Social Club: Schools and good public transport and commuter links.

More extensive shopping and leisure facilities can be found in the nearby towns of Morpeth and Ashington.

Morpeth was recently voted one of the Sunday Times best places to live in Britain, Morpeth town combines stylish shops, a wide range of restaurants and bars, as well as a beautiful park and the William Turner garden. As would be expected in a large town there are supermarkets, doctor's surgeries, dentists, a large leisure centre, golf course, and a lovely stretch of the River Wansbeck to walk along. Morpeth offers excellent schools, leisure facilities, shops, restaurants and pubs. There is easy access to the A1 for commuting to Newcastle city centre and good public transport links with regular bus services into Morpeth town centre and the nearby train station for services to Newcastle, Edinburgh, York and London Kings Cross.

Ashington is one of the largest towns in Northumberland and is located in the Woodhorn and coastal region of the county. The town offers a good range of independent and national retailers with a market day being held every Tuesday. Ashington is also well served by pubs and cafes and boasts a spectacular new sport and leisure centre. At one time Ashington was known as the largest mining village in the world and, although the mines closed in 1988, Ashington is justifiably proud of its history which is remembered at the nearby Woodhorn Museum. Ashington has two country parks, Wansbeck Riverside Country Park and the Queen Elizabeth II Country Park at Woodhorn. Ashington also offers a pleasant drive to some of Northumberland’s most spectacular coastal towns and villages including Amble, Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh. The market town of Morpeth with access to the East Coast railway line is just 6 miles away and Newcastle City Centre with its vibrant Quayside, nightlife, theatre and fabulous shopping just 18 miles away. Ashington is also well served by bus routes to and from Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Looking at the property from the front we have a traditional Victorian style mid terraced property with plenty of on street parking. There is a brick containing wall with a wrought iron gate providing access opening to the frontage where we have a low maintenance front garden which has been laid with flag stones and a concrete pathway leading up to the front door.

Entrance to the property is gained through a part glazed composite door straight in to the hallway. The hallway is spacious and airy with statement high ceilings and proves a warm welcome. From the hallway there are stairs to the first floor off to the right, there is a large under stair storage, at the end of the hallway there is a door through to the dining room and to our right we have a door through to the lounge.

The lounge is a very spacious room, again with those high ceilings, and offers oodles of space for even the largest items of furniture. The room is neutrally decorated and offer a lovely sense of calm. We have a large window over the front elevation providing plenty of natural light and there is a feature wall hung electric flame effect firet, perfect for those cosy winter evenings.

Back to the hallway and on to the dining room/sitting room. This room extends the full width of the property so offers plenty of space to allow for various arrangement of dining and or seating furniture to suit the needs of the buyer. There is a large window out over the rear elevation allowing in natural light and we have a door off to the left through to the family bathroom and to the right through to the kitchen.

The bathroom would perhaps benefit from a degree of TLC and currently has a bathing area with a step down to a WC area. The bathroom has a white suite comprising of: a bath with a shower over and a pedestal washbasin. There is a modesty window over the rear elevation and there are two chrome ladder effect radiators. Stepping down we have a low level close coupled WC and a modesty window out over the rear elevation. There is tiling in a white ceramic tile to full height behind the bath and then to half height to the remainder of the room.

Back across the dining room and on to the kitchen.

The kitchen is in a galley style buy has good proportions and offers plenty of width, with lots of natural light provided courtesy of two large windows out over the rear elevation.  There are: plenty of wall and base units which are white with chrome handles with a dark grey complimentary laminate worktop above which we have black cosmopolitan tiles which are laid in a brick pattern. There is: an under counter electric oven, four burner gas hob, stainless steel sink with a mixer tap over and space for a freestanding fridge/freezer. From here we have a timber Georgian style Flemish glazed door through to the utility room.

There are steps down to the utility where we have plumbing for a washing machine and space for a tumble drier. There is laminate worktop over. We have windows to the side and rear elevations and a door out to the back yard.

The back yard has plenty of space to host a table and chairs from which to enjoy the outside space in the warmer weather and is fully contained providing a high degree of privacy. There is a brick built storage shed for that all important storage and we have a timber pedestrian gate out to the rear lane and a pair of timber gates which would allow for off street parking.

Back through the property and up to the bedroom accommodation.

From the landing we have a window over the rear elevation allowing in natural light, providing a pleasant aspect over the rear gardens and allotments towards woodland, and doors off to the two bedrooms.

The first bedroom is the typical L shaped room which is a generous single room and has space for a bed and wardrobe furniture and has a window over the front elevation.

The last room is the Master bedroom which is a super-size and boasts plenty of space for even the largest suite of furniture. There is a large window over the front elevation making this a lovely light and airy space.

All in all we have a lovely spacious family property with well-balanced living space which has recently been neutrally decorated throughout offering a blank canvas for the purchaser to add their own stamp. Situated in a popular location within walking distance to every day amenities and with the benefit of excellent transport links to larger nearby towns which offer an extensive array of facilities.
