Description

Substantial village property with home office.

Description

The Old Bakehouse originating from the early 1600's has been extended and modernised, providing flexible, spacious family living with a separate double garage and office above. This could potentially be converted to alternative accommodation subject to planning consents.

The entrance hall leads through to the kitchen, utility, pantry, cloakroom, three of the four reception rooms and stairs to first floor.

The kitchen has a tiled floor with solid wood bespoke hand crafted cupboards, double Belfast sink and drainer. Fitted within the fireplace alcove is an Everhot electric cooker with work surface to either side. There is a built in dishwasher and space for a fridge and freezer. The kitchen has dual aspect windows and glass doors leading out to the rear garden. There is access through to the utility room, with built in cupboards, sink and space for white goods. A walk in pantry with built in shelves makes the ideal food storage space.
The sitting room with minstrels' gallery has a sizeable inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, an ideal formal sitting room or space for children to use as a playroom. The drawing room is situated to the front of the property, benefitting from sash windows with square proportions and high ceilings. This follows through into the formal dining room.

A traditional barn has been incorporated, which now provides an extra reception/ games room with double glass doors leading out to the paved terrace and garden. This room could provide a variety of different uses such as a sitting room, crafting space, hobby room or gym.

On the first floor is the principal bedroom with en suite shower room, wooden floors and a vaulted ceiling full of character and charm with exposed beams and views across open countryside. Adjacent to this is bedroom 5 which could be used as a dressing room or nursery. There are three further double bedrooms, a smaller single room and a generous family bathroom.

Outside is a double garage with storage, equipped with light and power. Designed to offer (subject to planning) secondary accommodation or work space. Above is the office with stunning gable end window with views of the garden and countryside beyond. There is a vaulted ceiling and velux windows. This is accessed via an external spiral staircase and provides the perfect home office space.

To the front of the property is a gravel drive and parking for several cars. The neighbour has a right of way along part of the drive. To the rear is a lovely private garden planted with mature trees and shrubs with a decked bbq area for alfresco entertaining. It is enclosed by fencing with direct access onto the footpath, ideal for dog walking.
