Passengers heading to property in France could boost Bristol Airport figures furtherWith Bristol Airport serving more international passengers than last year, a greater number of people could be heading to property in France from the transport facility in the coming months.

In August, 3.32 per cent more international travellers passed through the Bristol Airport terminal, despite air traffic control strikes in France.

The trend suggests that the figures could have been even higher had travel to property in France not been disrupted.

However, almost five per cent fewer flights were scheduled during the month than in the same period of the previous year, signifying that more aeroplanes are flying with fewer empty seats than in 2009.

Every month of 2010 has seen passenger numbers up at the airport, other than April, which was severely disrupted by the eruption of Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull.

Passengers travelling to the airport currently face less major disruption, but are still told to leave extra time to negotiate continuing roadworks on the M5 at Junction 18.
