The Algarve has far more to offer than just golf, a spokesperson for a golf tourism organisation has stated.

David Brice of Golf International said the region has over 30 high quality golf courses, but noted that it also offers culture, food, nature and historic architecture from the costal scenery to the Monchuique Mountains.

Mr Brice said: "The Algarve just might be the perfect escape for everyone, regardless of their interests, including those who prefer to do absolutely nothing at all but relax, hang out and watch the world go by."

Such variety may appeal to many potential Algarve property buyers.

The Algarve property scene is likely to be boosted by Easyjet’s recent announcement that it is launching more flights from the UK to Faro Airport, according to chief market analyst of overseas property portal Property Abroad, Liam Bailey.

He predicted property values in the Faro area will rise by ten to 15 per cent a year over the next five to ten years.
