Continuing development in the Portugal property market to the north of the country should ensure expatriates continue to flock to the sunshine spot, it has been claimed.

Homes Worldwide reports a surge of interest in new upmarket Portugal property developments in the region, with aspiring British expatriates reported to be amongst the most eager investors.

Demand for Portugal property is particularly strong for specialist developments, prompted by the recent completion of resorts such as the Norte Golfe Group’s Vale Pisao Nature Resort.

New Portugal property developments are also planned for the Greater Porto area, as well as in Vila Nova de Famalicao, Invicta and the ever-popular wine-producing region of the Douro Valley, according to the magazine.

Douro Valley is known as the home of port wine and is bisected by the Douro River, which originates in Spain and cuts right through the region, flowing west to the ocean in Porto.
